Position Summary

Solicits new and existing commercial prospects/customers for their banking needs. Works with all employees of the bank to develop a network of leads and potential opportunities for business, as well as all other areas of potential income for the bank. Responsible for the development and maintenance of their respective commercial loan portfolio, with the goal of providing maximum profitability with minimal risk. Accountable for the coordination of individual deposit development activities and strategies that promote core deposit growth by attracting new business and building multiple relationships with existing customers.

Position Accountabilities

  • Ensures applicable lending policies and procedures are followed. Responsible for adherence to applicable compliance regulations.
  • Generates new business through prospecting, outside calling, networking and referrals. Makes a substantial number of outside calls to new and prospective clients.
  • Develop and manage relationships and maximize long term customer satisfaction through aggressive cross-selling efforts to satisfy customers' financial needs.
  • Conduct interviews with customers to establish financial needs emphasizing financial counseling and lending, and processes requests or will make appropriate referrals.
  • Analyze credit and financial information for clients. Demonstrate sound judgment in decision making, abiding appropriately to established guidelines and procedures. Has authority to approve or deny accounts.
  • Performs and documents the complete interview with the customer while obtaining and providing all the required documentation as applicable to the loan process.
  • Establishes and/or maintains customer information files to ensure perfection of the banks security interest in compliance with regulatory, legal and bank requirements.
  • Initiates sales and cross-sells a full range of banking services to present and potential customers.
  • Completes the loan process from application through closing by working within standardized methods and processes set forth by the bank.
  • Identifies, classifies and monitors problems or potential problem loans in compliance with the internal credit review policy.
  • Monitor customers' repayment activity. Responsible for handling early detection and identification of past due accounts. Attempts to collect accounts that are delinquent including the negotiation of payment schedules, obtaining proper approvals if required.
  • Views credit quality as a personal obligation; exhibits independent judgment; ensures balanced loan presentations; responsible for ongoing account monitoring; proactive in problem detection/resolution; maintains balance between growth and credit quality.
  • Facilitate customer satisfaction and retention by successfully researching and resolving customer issues and inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitors' products and services, including pricing of deposit and loan products, fees and other charges in the market. Recommends changes to Senior Management with and objective of maintaining competitiveness and profitability of the bank.
  • Continues personal development focusing on operational excellence and industry specialization.
  • Ensures all duties and responsibilities are performed in accordance with established procedures and regulations.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Finance or related area or equivalent work experience.
  • 3-5 years of banking and sales experience.
  • Previous consumer and/or commercial lending experience.
  • Working knowledge of all bank products and services.
  • Possess direct sales and business development skills.
  • Solid background in business banking products and services.
  • Strong sales, communication, cross-selling, sales planning, mathematical, decision making, customer service and analytical skills.
  • Initiative/self starter. Strong desire to build relationships.
  • Sales oriented, outgoing and professional personality.
  • Excellent written, verbal/nonverbal and interpersonal skills.
